Wednesday, Aug. 25, is the deadline for an “early bird” discount on registrations for the inspection and accreditation workshop and quality boot camp organized by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
FACT’s virtual programs are planned for Wednesday, Sept. 29, between the two Thursdays of the live-stream Cord Blood Connect international congress.
- a Cord Blood Inspection and Accreditation Workshop in the morning
- a Cord Blood Quality Boot Camp in the afternoon
The morning inspection and accreditation workshop will begin with presenters from three different cord blood banks, who will explain the benefits of FACT accreditation and discuss how accreditation makes a difference in cord blood banking. Presenters will share benefits gained and best practices to ensure consistency of outputs and outcomes.
The morning continues with an overview of the accreditation process, from application to the awarding of accreditation. Other sessions include keys to compliance success, a tour of an accredited cord blood bank in which the presenter points out compliance with Standards, and common deficiency citations and how to avoid them. Examples and case studies will be provided.
Quality Book Camp
The afternoon quality boot camp sessions will begin with a presentation on the development and assessment of a quality management plan, followed by questions-and-answers and an interactive break-out session.
Other sessions will present stability studies in cord blood banking, the results of a stability study survey, how to establish and maintain a stability program within a public or family cord blood bank, and a concluding discussion panel.
For special group registration rates for three or more or 10 or more from the same cord blood bank or program contact Mikaela VanMoorleghem.
